The American Medical Association (AMA) has issued a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code for icometrix’ FDA-cleared, AI-related brain MRI quantification software, thereby creating a path to reimbursement (codes 0865T and 0866T).
In the US, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans use CPT codes to identify healthcare procedures and services. Once in effect, hospitals and imaging centers can use the new CPT codes to submit claims for icometrix’ AI-based analysis of brain MRI scans.
The brain imaging AI company provides clinically relevant metrics for cerebral MRI scans. The quantitative analysis AI insights assist clinicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and assessing treatment responses for brain disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, Epilepsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, etc.
Since the company’s precision-medicine platform stood among hundreds of technologies, providing clinically relevant measures to physicians to optimize clinical decision-making, it was selected on October 18th as a finalist for the Fierce Healthcare Innovation Award.
