Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ulrike Attenberger, the director of the clinic for diagnostic and interventional radiology at Bonn University Hospital (UKB), has just been appointed chair of the compliance committee of the International Society for Strategic Studies in Radiology (IS3R).

Two years after joining IS3R, Prof. Attenberger will now be directly involved in strategic planning as well as decision-making of the society’s board of directors.

In this new role in this renowned international network, I would like to use my expertise to effectively meet the challenges of today and tomorrow, particularly in view of the accelerating pace of digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence,’’ Attenberger said. “It is a special recognition for me to be given a weighty voice on this high-profile board.

The International Society for Strategic Studies in Radiology is a non-political non-profit organization, whose purpose is to promote strategic studies devoted to the advancement and coordination of scientific, didactic, philanthropic, intellectual, and professional activities in radiology.

The organization hosts professional conferences, promotes education, training, and research in a wide range of topics, and supports special scientific publications. IS3R committee members also develop scientific and technical standards.

It is an ’’honor for the UKB to see the director of its department of diagnostic and interventional radiology support the IS3R board,’’ Prof. Wolfgang Holzgreve, medical director and chairman of the board at UKB, said. “This appointment is a confirmation of the excellent expertise of our university hospital,” he concluded.
