Recently, FUJIFILM VisualSonics announced that the world’s first ultra high frequency (UHF) ultrasound system designed for clinical applications – the Vevo MD – had been approved for clinical use in Europe.
While most healthcare professionals will be familiar with conventional ultrasound as used by radiology departments, as well as the point-of-care systems
now common throughout healthcare centres, few outside of the research community have any experience with UHF ultrasound.
