Expanding Access to Comfortable Breast Imaging

Gnosis for Her, a mobile breast health initiative focused on comfort, clarity, and accessibility, made its national debut at the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk in Newport Beach, California. More than 6,000 participants—including breast cancer survivors, advocates, and healthcare professionals—had the opportunity to tour the new Mobile Breast CT Care Unit and learn about its diagnostic capabilities.

The service aims to bring high-quality 3D breast CT imaging directly into communities, offering women a non-invasive diagnostic option without compression or pain. The mobile unit features the Koning Vera Breast CT scanner, designed as an alternative to traditional mammography or ultrasound. The system provides 360-degree imaging for greater anatomical clarity, reducing the need for repeat exams and recalls.

Technology Designed for Comfort and Precision

The FDA-cleared 3D Breast CT technology delivers high-resolution images without breast compression, allowing clinicians to evaluate dense breast tissue, implants, or abnormal findings more effectively.

"We built Gnosis for Her to meet women where they are, and to make breast imaging feel respectful, clear, and comfortable," said Matt Collins, CEO of Gnosis for Her. "So many women avoid annual mammograms because of fear or pain. Our approach turns that experience into one of empowerment and ease."

A study published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology found that one in six women avoids screening mammography due to discomfort. With an estimated 297,000 women in the U.S. diagnosed with breast cancer each year, improving patient comfort could significantly increase early detection rates.

Clinical and Patient Benefits

Gnosis for Her’s mobile platform supports both diagnostic follow-up and early detection, particularly for women with dense breasts, implants or inconclusive mammograms. The initiative also aims to re-engage women who have delayed annual screenings due to anxiety or pain.

"With no compression and high-resolution images delivered in seconds, this technology allows us to provide dignity alongside diagnostics," said Dr. Margaret Bredehoft, Chief Development Officer at Gnosis for Her. "It's not just another breast exam, it's a new care experience. Every woman who stepped into our unit walked away with reassurance, not anxiety. That's the future we're building."

Community Rollout and Next Steps

The Mobile Care Unit begins patient imaging in November 2025, with promotional rates between $389 and $449 and a standard price of $499. Patients may seek insurance, FSA, or HSA reimbursement.

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gnosis for Her will host several community “Sip & See” events across Southern California, offering tours and consultations in an informal setting.
