Siemens Healthineers’ LUMINOS Q.namix R fluoroscopy system has been installed in Ireland for the first time, with St. Vincent’s Private Hospital introducing the technology as part of a long-term Value Partnership with the company. According to Siemens Healthineers, it supports a range of procedures while enabling accurate patient positioning and safer working practices within the examination suite.

The installation forms part of a structured, 10-year Value Partnership covering planned technology investment, maintenance, and lifecycle management for the hospital’s imaging services. Fluoroscopy is among the imaging technologies supported through the agreement and provides real-time imaging guidance for examinations and interventions, including gastrointestinal studies, orthopedic imaging, and urology procedures.

Integrated Fluoroscopy and Radiography

The LUMINOS Q.namix R is designed to integrate multiple imaging capabilities within a single platform, allowing clinicians to move between fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging without interrupting examination workflows.

Siemens Healthineers describes the LUMINOS Q.namix R as a remote fluoroscopy system designed for use across different examination workflows. The wider LUMINOS Q.namix platform features simplified controls, built-in workflow support, and a touch-control user interface, according to the company.

Developed in collaboration with clinicians, the system includes built-in workflow guidance designed to support consistent image quality and streamlined examinations, helping to minimize repeat imaging and unnecessary dose exposure.

Large monitors provide image visibility from across the examination room, while an integrated patient camera supports continuous observation to help ensure accurate positioning and patient monitoring throughout examinations.

Hospital Reports Impact on Fluoroscopy Service

“Since installing the LUMINOS Q.namix R system, it has quickly become an integral part of our fluoroscopy service,” states Charmedene Kleinbooi, radiology service manager in general radiology and PACS at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. “Introducing the system through a Value Partnership has allowed us to focus not only on the technology itself, but on how it supports our service now and into the future. The image quality across both fluoroscopic and radiographic examinations is excellent, and the ability to transition easily between techniques supports a smoother flow between procedures. As demand continues to increase, the system is already having a positive impact for both patients and staff.”

Jo Barry, business manager for X-ray products at Siemens Healthineers Great Britain and Ireland, said the installation reflects collaboration between clinical teams and technology partners to support clinical work and longer-term service planning.

Long-Term Imaging Investment

The installation introduces a single-platform approach to fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, with the system designed to support transitions between the two techniques during examination workflows.
