At ECR 2026, Bracco Imaging highlighted its growing focus on artificial intelligence with the European introduction of AiMIFY, an AI-based solution designed to enhance brain MRI imaging.
Developed in collaboration with Subtle Medical, AiMIFY uses artificial intelligence to improve image quality by reducing noise and artifacts while amplifying contrast enhancement. According to Elena Magalotti of Bracco Imaging, the goal is to provide radiologists with an additional, higher-quality image during the reading session.
The technology is designed to help clinicians obtain clearer diagnostic information without exposing patients to additional doses of gadolinium-based contrast agents. By enhancing existing MRI data, the solution may also help reduce the need for repeated scans when image quality is suboptimal.
Bracco sees AI as becoming an increasingly important component of imaging workflows, complementing traditional contrast media in achieving optimal image quality.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand AiMIFY beyond brain MRI to cover the broader central nervous system and potentially other anatomical areas, with longer-term ambitions to explore applications in modalities such as CT.
