“This partnership between Hyland and Tribun Health positions healthcare organizations at the forefront of agentic digital pathology,” said Michael Campbell, chief product officer at Hyland. “Together, we’re setting a new standard for data-driven diagnostics, delivering faster, more precise diagnoses and improving patient outcomes; while reinforcing our shared commitment to driving innovation in healthcare.”
Jean-François Pomerol, CEO at Tribun Health, emphasized the complexity of pathology workflows and the role AI can play in optimizing them: “Pathology workflows are notoriously intricate, with massive datasets, critical timelines, and frequent collaboration requirements. By combining Tribun Health’s leading AI pathology platform, CaloPix®, with Hyland’s proven enterprise imaging capabilities, we’re advancing an end-to-end solution that addresses these intricacies by enabling healthcare organizations to dramatically transform their workflow and diagnostic capabilities.”
Unified Imaging Environment for Pathology and Radiology
The joint solution aggregates digital pathology gross images and whole slide images (WSI) alongside imaging from radiology, cardiology, and other departments. This consolidated environment supports a longitudinal patient imaging record and simplifies access for multidisciplinary teams
Key components include:
- Advanced Integration: Hyland’s Acuo VNA and NilRead will integrate with Tribun Health’s MacroCam, CaloPix platform, and diagnostics applications, aiming to improve workflow consistency and data interoperability across pathology and imaging departments.
- Optimized, Cross-Disciplinary Workflows: The platform will support unified imaging workflows that bring together radiology, pathology, and additional medical specialties under a single system, improving communication and reducing operational friction.
- AI-Enabled Diagnostics and DICOM Support: Expanded support for the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) standard in pathology imaging positions healthcare organizations to adopt AI-driven assessment tools and enhance clinical decision-making.
Industry Perspective
IDC highlighted the broader significance of the collaboration:
