End of an Era: Thursar Departs After 16 Years

For more than a decade and a half, Lars Thursar shaped INFINITT Europe’s identity, building the Frankfurt-based subsidiary into a trusted provider of medical imaging and PACS solutions. His departure after 16 years introduces uncertainty for employees, customers, and industry observers.

Kevin Lim, previously Chief Technology Officer, acknowledged his predecessor’s impact: "Lars built INFINITT Europe from the ground up – establishing a strong team, a loyal customer base across Europe, and a solid position in the industry. It has been an honor to work alongside him and witness his unwavering dedication."

Thursar’s exit leaves a void that Lim must now fill while also signaling a possible shift in strategic priorities.

From CTO to Managing Director

Kevin (Kun Hong) Lim is no stranger to INFINITT. He began his career with the parent company in Korea and relocated to Germany 15 years ago, gaining extensive knowledge of both the company’s products and the European imaging market. As CTO, he aligned regional operations with global R&D, but now faces the challenge of steering the subsidiary amid intensifying competition.

Lim positioned his appointment as an opportunity to push forward: "As I step into this role, I am immensely proud to build on the robust foundation Lars so meticulously crafted. I look forward to leading INFINITT Europe into a new era, one defined by accelerated technological innovation, a deeper commitment to enterprise imaging, and significantly enhanced customer value."

Headquarters’ Confidence Amid Industry Pressure

Weon-Yong Lee, CEO of INFINITT Healthcare Co., Ltd., stressed continuity while underlining Lim’s expertise: "We sincerely thank Lars Thursar for his leadership and dedication over the past 16 years. Kevin Lim brings a deep understanding of our solutions and the European healthcare landscape. We are confident that his leadership will ensure continuity and guide INFINITT Europe through its next phase of growth."

Yet the timing of the leadership change comes as the European enterprise imaging market faces mounting pressure from larger rivals and rapidly evolving AI-powered imaging solutions. The question remains whether Lim’s internal experience will provide enough disruption to keep pace.

Strategic Outlook:

  • AI-powered imaging solutions

  • Open platform strategies to improve workflow integration

  • Enhanced customer experience

  • Expanded technical support services

While these initiatives echo industry trends, Lim’s success will hinge on whether he can maintain trust built under Thursar’s leadership while navigating technological and market disruptions.
