New features added to the Neko Health Scan
Health technology company Neko Health has announced new capabilities for its Neko Health Scan, including body composition analysis and integration with wearable devices. According to the company, the updates are designed to provide clinicians with additional health data during the one-hour scan and expand the information available for follow-up visits.
Beginning with the current rollout, every Neko Health Scan will include body composition measurements generated using the company's proprietary imaging technology. The scan now provides measurements of visceral fat and body fat percentage without the use of X-ray radiation. Neko Health states that the results are intended to support discussions between clinicians and patients about metabolic health.
Members with upcoming appointments can also download the Neko Health App for iOS and connect it to Apple Health. This allows wearable data—including steps, sleep, heart rate variability, and other metrics—to be incorporated into the scan experience. According to the company, clinicians can use this information to provide more personalized guidance and to compare health data across repeat visits.
Focus on metabolic health and longitudinal data
Neko Health said the addition of body composition data expands the health information available during routine scans.
"Body composition is one of the most impactful additions we could make to the Neko Health Scan, giving our clinicians access to metabolic data that will help provide insight into a health metric that most people haven't had access to and has long been invisible to standard checks," said Neko Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunita Mishra. "Visceral fat in particular is a strong predictor of metabolic disease, cardiovascular risk, and type 2 diabetes - yet most people have no idea what their levels are. Pair that with a year of wearables data showing how someone has actually been living, and you move from data points to a genuine story. That is where the real opportunity for early intervention lies."
Continued technology development
The company also announced that it is introducing the next generation of its scanning technology at its Stockholm clinic. According to Neko Health, the updated system captures a greater volume and higher fidelity of health data related to the skin, heart, and circulation. Design updates to the scan room have also been introduced to provide a more personalized experience during appointments.
Neko Health develops its hardware, software, and consumer experience in-house. According to the company, this integrated approach supports continuous updates to its technology platform.
"Our latest advancements are more than new features - they're a clear signal of what's next for Neko Health," said Founder and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne. "These features reflect something fundamental about how we operate: we are never finished. Every scan should be more valuable than the last; every visit should tell members something they couldn't have known otherwise, and every year should bring capabilities that weren't possible the year before. We are redesigning the system from the ground up."
Neko Health currently operates clinics in Stockholm, London, Manchester, and Birmingham, and plans to expand into the United States in 2026.
