RadNet Enters Idaho with New Imaging Joint Venture

RadNet Inc. has announced a new joint venture with Trinity Health’s Saint Alphonsus Health System to jointly operate five imaging facilities in the Boise, Idaho, region. According to Radiology Business, the agreement is expected to generate approximately $30 million in annual revenue for the outpatient imaging provider.

The transaction marks RadNet’s expansion into its 11th U.S. state and its second geographic expansion in 2026 following its recent entry into Indiana.

Five Imaging Facilities Included in the Agreement

The joint venture was established through RadNet’s acquisition of a majority equity position in Intermountain Medical Imaging LLC, which owns multimodality outpatient imaging centers in Idaho.

The agreement includes:

  • Three outpatient imaging centers in Meridian and Eagle, Idaho
  • Two Saint Alphonsus medical centers
  • Continued professional radiology services from Gem State Radiology

RadNet will assume operational responsibility for all five locations, while Gem State Radiology will continue providing radiology interpretations and professional services.

DeepHealth Solutions to Support Imaging Workflows

The 30-radiologist practice Gem State Radiology will also utilize reporting and interpretation solutions from DeepHealth, RadNet’s artificial intelligence and radiology informatics subsidiary.

According to the companies, the partnership aims to combine outpatient imaging operations, workflow management, and AI-enabled technologies to support imaging efficiency and patient care.

“The relationship with RadNet allows us to bring best-in-class outpatient imaging management, efficient workflows and AI technologies to improve both the patient journey and the service we provide to our referring physician communities,” said David McFadyen, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System.

Focus on Outpatient Imaging and Operational Efficiency

RadNet stated that the partnership combines Saint Alphonsus Health System’s regional healthcare presence with RadNet’s outpatient imaging management expertise.

"This relationship with Saint Alphonsus Health System marks a pivotal moment for diagnostic imaging in Idaho," said Norman Hames, RadNet’s president and CEO of Western Operations. “We are bringing together the best of what each organization offers—Saint Alphonsus’s deep community roots and clinical excellence and RadNet’s broad expertise in managing outpatient operations efficiently and profitably.”

Saint Alphonsus Health System operates four hospitals across Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada and became part of Trinity Health in 2010.

Continued Expansion of RadNet’s Imaging Network

Headquartered in Los Angeles, RadNet now operates approximately 420 imaging centers across the United States, including facilities in Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Virginia.

Gem State Radiology, based in Meridian, Idaho, has served the Treasure Valley region since 1974 and established Intermountain Medical Imaging in 1999 to expand its outpatient imaging footprint.
