Partnership Aims to Bridge AI and Radiology Expertise
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) has announced that its subsidiary, RSNA Ventures, has formed a strategic collaboration with Rad AI, a company specializing in generative artificial intelligence for healthcare. The partnership aims to advance AI-driven imaging solutions by embedding RSNA’s trusted educational and clinical resources directly into radiologists’ reporting workflows through the Rad AI Reporting platform.
With medical imaging volumes continuing to rise faster than the available radiology workforce, the initiative seeks to ease operational strain while improving diagnostic consistency. It marks one of RSNA Ventures’ first major projects since its launch earlier this year, aligning with its mission to develop and commercialize innovations that enhance radiology practice and patient outcomes.
Delivering Knowledge at the Point of Interpretation
“This partnership aims to solve a critical challenge for radiologists – leveraging AI to optimize workflows to improve patient care,” said Adam E. Flanders, M.D., RSNA board member and Liaison for Information Technology. “Through this alliance, RSNA Ventures will deliver RSNA’s peer-reviewed content into Rad AI's solutions already in use across leading U.S. radiology practices and health systems, ensuring that this innovation is trusted and practical.”
The integration will allow case-based insights and evidence-based guidance to appear automatically within reporting workflows, eliminating the need for manual searches and helping radiologists manage growing workloads while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Empowering Radiologists with Real-Time Insights
“Radiologists have always been pioneers in adopting technology,” said Jeff Chang, M.D., co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Rad AI. “This partnership with RSNA Ventures gives radiologists an unprecedented advantage, bringing case-based insights directly into their workflow in real time, allowing them to stay focused on image interpretation. By connecting trusted RSNA knowledge with daily practice, radiologists can deliver rapid, data-backed recommendations to providers and answers to patients faster, with greater confidence and with assurance that decisions are grounded in the best available peer-reviewed knowledge.”
By combining RSNA’s clinical authority with Rad AI’s workflow automation, the partnership seeks to close one of the key gaps in medical imaging: providing immediate, context-relevant information at the point of care.
Next Steps: Demonstration at RSNA 2025
The first milestone of the collaboration will be a live product demonstration during the RSNA 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago. The integrated solution will be showcased in the AI Theater, the Discovery Theater, and at Rad AI Booth #4753 in McCormick Place South Hall Level 3.
Further announcements and developments are expected during the event.
