Centenary Milestone at ECR 2026
At the upcoming European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2026, taking place from March 4-8 in Vienna, Guerbet will showcase key elements of its medical imaging portfolio while marking a major corporate milestone. In 2026, the France-based company celebrates its 100th anniversary and will unveil a dedicated centenary visual identity for the first time at the congress.
According to the company, the new visual identity reflects a century of activity in medical imaging and underscores Guerbet’s ongoing commitment to supporting diagnostic and interventional radiology. The presentation at ECR is positioned as a symbolic moment in the group’s history and part of its continued engagement with the radiology community.
Focus on Macrocyclic MRI Contrast Agents
At ECR 2026, Guerbet will highlight Elucirem™ (Gadopiclenol), its macrocyclic gadolinium-based contrast agent. If approved by the European Commission, Elucirem™ (gadopiclenol) will be indicated for contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in adults and in children from birth.
The agent is intended to improve detection and visualization of pathologies associated with disruption of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and/or abnormal vascularity affecting:
- the brain, spine, and associated tissues of the central nervous system (CNS)
- the liver, kidney, pancreas, breast, lung, prostate, and musculoskeletal system
For these indications, MRI examinations performed with Elucirem™ (gadopiclenol) require half the conventional gadolinium dose compared with existing nonspecific contrast agents. According to Guerbet, this reduced dose directly addresses practitioner concerns regarding cumulative gadolinium exposure, including in pediatric imaging, and supports the company’s emphasis on patient safety.
Real-World Evidence and Clinical Practice
A dedicated patient case space at Guerbet’s booth will focus on the role of Real-World Evidence (RWE) in radiology. The company aims to demonstrate how real-life clinical data can support improvements in imaging practice, inform decision-making, and contribute to optimized patient care pathways across healthcare systems.
French Healthcare Collaboration in the Spotlight
France is the featured country at ECR 2026, and Guerbet will contribute by hosting the “French Pavilion” under the aegis of the French Healthcare initiative. The pavilion is designed to foster dialogue and cooperation among healthcare companies, institutions, and stakeholders, with the goal of showcasing French healthcare expertise and solutions to an international audience.
